Smart BatteryProtect protects the battery from excessive discharge (which could damage the battery) and can be used as an on/off switch.
Automatic 12/24V setting.
BatteryProtect battery protection automatically detects system voltage.
Integrated Bluetooth - very easy programming.
With Smart BatteryProtect's integrated Bluetooth programming feature, it is easy to set the desired voltage levels for connecting/disconnecting loads.
Settings can be made via smartphone, tablet, or PC using the VictronConnect app (compatible with iOS and Android).
Alternatively, one of nine preset connection/disconnection levels can be set using a programming pin.
Bluetooth can be disabled if required.
In Special Setup mode for Li-ion batteries, Smart BatteryProtect can be controlled via the VE.Bus BMS (Smart BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge disconnect between the battery charger and the Li-ion battery).
Very low power consumption - Low power consumption is very important for Li-ion batteries, especially after low voltage shutdown.
In case of overvoltage resulting in possible damage to sensitive devices, devices are disconnected if DC voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V.
It does not work with relay elements but with MOSFET transistor switches, no arcing is generated.
The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops below the set value for more than 12 seconds.
The alarm output is an open collector output on the negative bus, max. current 500 mA.
The alarm output is typically connected to a buzzer or light.
The load disconnects 90 seconds after the alarm has been triggered.
If during this time the battery voltage rises to the connection threshold20 level (e.g. during engine start), the load will not disconnect.
The load will reconnect 30 seconds after the battery voltage rises to more than the preset reconnect voltage.
BatteryProtect battery protection is unidirectional i.e. current can only pass from the "in" input to the "out" output.
Back current passing from the,,out" output to the,,in" input is not allowed and will damage the device.
